Phoenix Decks and Mnemonics

Here's a quick tip or suggestion.

Obviously, this is for beginners and those new to magic who are interested in a Mnemonic and want to learn one, but don't yet have a book or direct access to any tutorials for any of the Mnemonic Stacks (from well-known magicians) out there.

It's something those of us who've been around a while (and tried many different decks) already know, but beginners, especially those on a tight budget, often don't.

When you're first starting out, you often stick to just Bicycle Standard or Rider Back decks, and that's it.

Well, all you need to do is pick up a Phoenix deck.

These decks come with a special card from a "game" called Poker Bingo.

(I've intentionally blurred it out 😉)

You could play Poker Bingo without any problem, but that's not the real purpose of this card.

It's a crib sheet for the Juan Tamariz Mnemonic Stack (Front) and the Simon Aronson Mnemonic Stack (Back).

Juan Tamariz once mentioned (I can't recall if I read it or saw it in a video) that this could be a helpful aid when starting out. He talked about making your own crib sheet, but this deck comes with it already printed, disguised as a game.

When you open the deck, you could set it aside (but still visible) just like the Jokers, using the excuse that you won't be using it. Then you could (with the deck secretly in one of the two Mnemonic Stacks) perform basic location effects with, say, 3 cards, as an opening to any show (which wouldn't have to continue with stack work).

Just so you know (for those who aren't aware) that Phoenix decks come with a crib sheet for two of the most popular Mnemonic Stacks.

All the best and happy magic!!!

Just tell me if this isn't allowed, but I've got a video download on something similar to a memorized stack that I picked up, and I'm happy to share it if you'd like. Now, if I'm breaking any rules whatsoever by sharing purchased content, someone please give me a heads-up. Thanks!

Let me know if I can't, but I can share a video download

If you've paid for it, it's yours, but no one else's. That's how piracy laws work; only the person who pays is the "owner" of the product. If you share it, it's illegal.

In legal terms, you're not even truly the "owner"; it's more akin to a usufruct.

So, even though your intentions are good, it's neither legal nor compatible with the club's rules or general laws.
