Find the Spectator's Card (and Turn it Over) in a Split Second
A super visual and surprising effect that anyone can do.
The spectator chooses a card, and it gets lost in the deck, but the magician manages to find it and turn it over in the blink of an eye. How did it turn over?
Plus, in this effect, you're going to learn one of magic's most important concepts: the Principle of Coverage (the element that helps prevent any suspicion of trickery during the performance of a magic effect).

I really like this one. I do it a few different ways: The classic method of turning the spectator's card face up (either pre-set or setting it up on the fly); another way is to have a reversed card among face-down cards, and that reversed card indicates the spectator's card's location. The latest one I learned (it's on Santi Marcilla's channel) is a combination of both: first, you find the spectator's card by turning it face up. Then, when you repeat, a "miss" happens because a different card turns face up, but you recover, as that card still marks the location. With good misdirection, you can do all of this right under their noses, and they won't suspect a thing.
If some expert magician later tries to analyze how you did it and figures it out, who cares? The main thing is they had fun (and if they spent time thinking about it, it's because they enjoyed it, haha!).
Good one. The tough part is it's pretty well-known, so you'll need a completely green spectator for them not to figure it out.
