Truth be told, as most magicians will tell you, it's not a good idea to repeat a magic trick. Some tricks are practically impossible to repeat, since, during the first performance (and hopefully the last), the audience isn't usually paying full attention to the effect. However, on a second viewing, spectators might focus on all sorts of details because they already know how the trick ends. Essentially, this gives them a second chance to analyze it more closely. On the flip side, if you make a mistake performing a magic trick for the first time, you can easily cover it up. The audience won't know you messed up; it's highly likely they'll just interpret the 'mistake' as part of the show. But if they've seen the trick before, then they'll definitely spot the error.

I was wondering how advisable it is to perform the same trick twice?
It depends on what you mean.
If it's about doing the same trick two times in a row for the same person (or 3, 4, or 5...), well, that also depends on the trick in question.
For example:
Performing the Ambitious Card with different techniques, you can do it as many times as you want without any problem. As long as you're not just relying on the Double Lift, you can repeat the effect.
Repeating a trick like, for example, a double prediction, can be suicide.
It depends on the trick and the effect you want to achieve (and the different techniques you have to perform that effect).

Again, it depends.
If the person you're performing for is someone you ALWAYS do tricks for... 😅, then maybe the "problem" is not wanting to step out of your comfort zone of doing magic for familiar and close friends.
Which is fine for training and practice, but not much else.
If you're serious about performing magic, repeating tricks (for different people) isn't the problem; the problem is repeating your audience.
On the other hand, the more techniques you know to achieve the same effect, the more times you can repeat it right in front of the same spectator.
