Hey Everyone! I'm Isa
Hey everyone! How's it going?
My name's Isabel, and I'm from Zaragoza.
My son and I signed up for magic classes with Juan Capilla in April, and we're loving it!
We'll be back at it in October!
I've also started reading a lot and watching tons of Julio Ribera's work, etc!
Right now I'm looking for a good video that explains 'El Incauto Mentiroso,' because I think it's a super cool trick!
If anyone wants to share one...
Also, if there's anything I can help with (with what little I know), I'm here!
All the best!

I think they're referring to this one:
Great video!!!
Gabi Paredas, another phenomenal magician who, if I recall correctly, passed away around three years ago these days.
Also, a tribute to the legendary Pepe Carrol, who left us too soon.
@Isabel Crespo Forcada:
It's, obviously, a false count. It requires practice but isn't complicated.
However, it's not really a beginner's move, as it demands natural fluidity with the technique to keep the deception hidden.
I'm not sure if there's a tutorial video for it out there, but I'm certain there is (you can find everything on the internet). Just search for it on YouTube; you're bound to find it.
Explaining this type of trick in a book format isn't really my strong suit. And since I'm not a magician who records tutorials on YouTube, I can't help you much by trying to explain how to do it.
I also don't know if Julio has that explanation on his channel, either for the trick itself or for that type of count (which is possible).
Anyway, if you can't find it, let me know, and we can figure something out.
Cheers and happy magic!!!
Thanks a ton, everyone!
I'll check YouTube to see if I can find anything... and if I'm still stuck, I'll let you know!
All the best!
Hey there, and a big welcome to both you and your son!!!
@Isabel Crespo Forcada:
Hmmmm, that rings a bell (I think it's a packet trick and uses an Elmsley Count), but I can't quite place it right now.
Could you describe the effect for me, or do you know who performs that trick?
Welcome, Isa!
Hope you enjoy all you've accomplished and everything that's still ahead!!
Here are some clues to help you figure out this wonderful trick:
Count the number of cards Gabi starts with and the number she finishes with.
Heard of the Double Lift? Well, there's a multiple lift involved here.
There's a pre-set stack of cards, and you'll need to ditch a few at the end.
Good luck, and I hope you have a great time figuring it out!
I want to give credit for these hints to my good friends from the student group, where we discussed this spectacular effect a couple of months back.
Best,
I have a question: I'm trying to sign up to become a magician, but after I confirm my email, I don't receive anything, not even in my spam folder.
Where did you enter your email address?
