Questions About Palming a Card

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble palming a card. I'm not sure if it's my hand size or if I'm doing the technique wrong. ✋♠♥♦♣

Here's an image:

The problem is my hand doesn't completely cover the card, like it's supposed to.

If anyone could help me, it would be a huge help! 😄😄😄

Hey Darío,

If your hands are on the smaller side and you're having trouble completely covering the card, one thing you can do is try to pull focus away from your hands through Misdirection. This means saying or doing something that keeps their eyes off your grip. For instance, try asking them a question while looking them in the eye, encouraging them to look up at you. There are many approaches to Misdirection; you can probably find more detailed info in other threads here.

Another tip is to really maximize your coverage with the pinky finger side of your hand.

All the best!

Hey Dario, first off, I want you to know that having a "small" hand is never a big issue. My hand is literally just like yours, and I always do the same thing when I palm cards. You just need to pay attention to the angle at which it sits in your hand and make sure it's not visible from the thumb and forefinger side. You should always keep it a bit more extended towards your pinky side. I know it looks a little odd to you, but if the spectator is in front of you or to your left, they'll never see it. If you need more tips, just let me know. 😉

Use BRIDGE-sized cards; they're smaller. This will help you feel more confident with your palm. For the classic palm, position the card diagonally in your hand, with one corner resting at the base of your pinky finger and the opposite corner against the fleshy part at the base of your thumb.
