I'm looking for folks in Madrid to connect with and share this amazing passion for magic and cardistry. I'd love to set up some meetups to get together and share our craft more closely.

The Difference Between "Can You Explain a Trick?" and "Can You Reveal the Secret?"
There's a right way and a wrong way to ask. One thing is to share a secret with care and respect, not just giving it away, but explaining it to someone you know will truly appreciate it. And it's a completely different thing to be a "secret hog," directly asking, "How'd you do that?" — only to follow up with, "...I figured it was something like that anyway..." or "...that's just some silly gimmick..." Then, they not only belittle and devalue the effect, but also spill the beans to anyone who'll listen, just to "look cool." This comes down to a wild trend among many magicians ( especially beginners ), to want to know everything without even having truly absorbed what they've just learned ( and not even giving themselves enough time to master it ) yet they want to keep learning more and more new things. They end up forgetting half of what they learn 🙄 Gradually, one step at a time. If you want to take this SERIOUSLY , you should slow down. I'm not saying don't ask questions; I'm just pointing out that " the way you ask " can lead to different kinds of answers 😊 I DON'T REVEAL SECRETS willy-nilly; I SHARE INFORMATION with those who show a genuine interest in learning. So, please avoid private messages like "Could you reveal...." , without even a simple "Hey, how are you doing?" , because personally, I don't find that very......, well, decent 😅 Otherwise, I'm always happy to help ( if I can ) and share experiences. Just wanted to put that out there. Have a great day and good magic, everyone!!!

Is This **Right**!?
Hey everyone. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Ace, and I'd like to ask for your thoughts on a specific topic. I'm curious to hear your opinions on magic tricks being exposed for free on easily accessible platforms worldwide, and also about magic exposures in general, whether it's on magic event platforms or forums like this one. First off, I've seen quite a few videos where paid routines or techniques are exposed for free online. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and your reasons why. Because I'm seeing a lot of debate around it. On one hand, I understand and believe that some magic can be revealed without any issue, but other magic shouldn't be exposed; this is to protect the art itself. There are many routines that magicians use and create, and many others that are sold, which have been exposed through platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and similar sites where anyone can easily access them, and for free in the case of paid routines or techniques. And I don't think that's right because it exposes magic itself and impacts magicians who have likely spent years working on their material. It's really upsetting when these types of things are exposed. We see examples of this with routines by Shin Lim, Eric Chien, Asi Wind, and especially lately, I've seen a lot of exposure of Juan Tamariz and his Mnemonica stack. These are truly magicians who have dedicated years to their routines, and it's not just that; the Magic and the ART are also lost. And even more so on such open platforms like YouTube or similar. but I also believe there's magic that *could* be revealed, but in more closed-off environments, for example, on this forum – tricks that wouldn't harm the creator or magic itself. But then there's the other side of the coin: those who say if you don't want to know how it's done, just don't watch the video; that *you're* the one who damages the illusion. They claim, “nobody can force us not to seek the truth, and we should always be searching for the truth so that darkness doesn't overcome light.” In my opinion, and as Miquel Roma would say, there's magic meant to be shared, but other magic shouldn't be exposed to protect the art. Because if I were to make a thread or a YouTube video right now, for instance, exposing Asi Wind's Double Exposure, I think many would be against it, either because they bought the trick or because they don't think it's right. But others might say, “Thanks for the exposé, keep doing what you're doing, champ!” It's a very open topic, and I'd really like to know what you all think. Likewise, I'd like to hear everyone's opinion, even if you believe it *should* be exposed, and I'd like to know your reasons why. (Let's be honest, a large portion of magicians are the very ones asking for these routines to be revealed.) “and I won't deny it”……… I'VE BEEN THERE TOO!!! I've been part of wanting to know those revelations; I've even asked for help with many things on this very forum. That's why I'd particularly like to hear from those who believe routines *should* be revealed. I'd really like to hear many opinions on this topic here on this server. Without further ado, best regards & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

The Million-Dollar Question: Does anyone know how this is done?
Someone reached out to me today to ask why I sometimes answer that question by posting videos that reveal things and other times I directly refer them to club rule number 8, which specifically prohibits revealing things. Well, the answer is simple and logical. First off, I'm re-sharing this thought I had a while back: And now, I'd like to mention that when I respond to someone, I evaluate several things. One of them is how the question is asked and its context. It's one thing to ask just to ask, and another to ask because you've bought a product or received it as a gift and don't understand it. On the other hand, it's not the same to have joined the club, introduced yourself, and interacted a bit ..., versus just creating an account, not introducing yourself, and immediately asking for reveals . It's just a bit of courtesy toward yourself and others, plain and simple. I'll say it again: if you know how to ask properly, you'll get better results. P.S.: Whenever I refer to rule 8, I usually say the following: " To start... ", which means " For now, given how you've asked, I can't tell you anything, but try asking in a different way " I think I've made that pretty clear 😊 All the best and happy magic to everyone!!!

Hi, my name is Carlos Falcón
Hey everyone, I got hooked on this world as a kid, thanks to an uncle's book that fell into my hands. Although my involvement with magic has been on and off, I've been really into it for the past few years. I'm an elementary school teacher, and whenever I can, I use magic with my students, whether it's through effects that explain concepts or to tell stories that help me in class. I'm also passionate about ventriloquism and have a blog where I write book reviews and interview magicians, as well as share some experiences I'm having or have had with this noble art. I love stage magic, and I keep learning and reading whenever I can, both about it and other branches of magic.

On the Shoulders of Giants
We can always progress and reach further if we build upon those who came before us. As Newton said (I know the quote isn't 100% his), I see further because I stand on the shoulders of giants. That's why our magical heritage is so important—not just for borrowing effects, but for putting ourselves in the shoes of giants and reaching further by forging our own paths. Gea offers an example here, taken from his latest book, which precisely delves into these influences.

Thumb Tip Potential
Every magician says the TT (Thumb Tip) has a lot of potential, but I can't find many other tricks to do besides handkerchief vanishes, salt vanishes, and extinguishing a cigarette on your clothes. Does anyone have a book or know of any videos with Thumb Tip tutorials?

Card Reversal with 6 Cards
Hey everyone, how's it going? I'm trying to figure out an effect where I show six cards, turn them all face down, and then with a move, one of them visibly reverses itself face up. I know methods for four cards, but I'm not sure how to pull it off with six. Thanks!

VALENCIA FOLKS (free posters with a reward)
For all you folks in Valencia, just wanted to let you know I was in town yesterday, and you can snag a POSTER for free. I'll post the photos here, and if you know the exact spot, just go grab it, it's yours! I put up two of them in two different locations around the city. One is on Gran Vía del Marqués de Turia, and the other is on the way to the town hall square. If anyone here gets their hands on a poster, I'll personally make sure (if the project gets funded) to send them a deck! 🙌🏻 They just need to get in touch with the @disinfinitycards Instagram account. Good luck 🍀 They're the same as the 5 posters I'll be giving away in the Kickstarter campaign for people who pledge for 3 or more decks. I started creating this deck right after watching Julio Ribera's video “How to Create Your Custom Deck - FREE COURSE,” which is why I wanted to share this here in the community. If anyone's inspired to make their own deck, I just want to say it's not an easy process – saying otherwise would be a lie – but the one thing I know is it's worth it and has taught me so much that will definitely help me with other projects in the future 🔝 Cheers!! 😊

Bringing a Card from the Bottom to the Top of the Deck
Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to card magic, and after seeing a bunch of tricks, I've been wanting to put together or create routines. But I've often found myself limited to just doing single tricks because I don't know a way to get a card from the bottom of the deck to the top. I've thought about palming, but I bet there's an easier way to do it. If anyone knows, I'd be super grateful!

Does anyone know this song, or something similar?
Hey everyone, I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me what this song is, from this clip: It's from Shin Lim's audition on AGT. There are two songs—one plays first, then the other. I'm looking for the first one, since I already know the second. Oh, and by the way, I just have to say: "What a killer trick!" You absolutely have to check it out.

My birthday's coming up, and I want to order some stuff from the store, but I obviously don't want my parents to have access to the tutorials; I want them linked to my account.

I accidentally placed two orders. Is it possible to return one?

Can someone help me out, please? I don't even know how much it costs or when it becomes available. Could you explain how it works? My birthday is in about a month, and I really want to ask for it!

Hey everyone!!!
This post is just a quick heads-up: when you create a new topic, DON'T FORGET to use the categories and the tags.
Most of the time, most of you just ignore it and leave the default category (magic) for everything, with no tags at all.
Both categories and tags are super useful for organizing things and making it easier to search for information later.
Please, use these options; they're there for a reason!
Thanks for giving it a shot 😊.
All the best and happy magic!!!

Hey everyone, has anyone bought anything recently from Close-Up Magic Shop (España, Borriana)?
I've seen they've been around for years, but I can't find any recent reviews.
Can you share any recent experiences with shipping, customer service, or quality?
Thanks in advance.

I just finished watching "The Mentalist" series, and I absolutely loved how Patrick Jane makes it seem like he can read people's minds. I did a little research and saw that Luke Jermay helped the actor build his mentalist character. I was wondering if there's a book, course, or any trick that achieves a similar effect—one that creates the impression I can truly read a spectator's mind. I've been experimenting with a trick where I ask them to place three random cards on the table and pick one, and by watching their face, I can guess which card they chose. I've pulled it off several times, but I want to perfect the technique, so I'm asking if anyone can help me out.

Where can I watch the tutorials for the magic tricks I've bought?
