Looking to Get Into Magic

Hey everyone, my name is Alex and I'm just starting out in the world of magic. My knowledge is pretty basic, and I'd love to learn the ropes and how to put together routines in general. My main interests are card magic, coin magic and magic with everyday objects, and I'd also like to delve into digital magic.

I'm totally open to feedback, tips, and any help from the community to improve.

Thanks a ton to anyone who reads this, and cheers!

Hey everyone!!!

If we're talking about getting started with card magic and really taking it "seriously" (it doesn't have to be 'professional' level, 'hobbyist' is plenty).

I recommend (if you haven't already) starting with Cartomagia Fundamental by Vicente Canuto.

With that book, which you should read at least a couple of times (and probably many more), you'll have everything you need.

Though reading and learning have their own pace, and just knowing things doesn't necessarily mean you'll ace them on the first try (practice and repetition are required), an intensive way to approach it could be the following.

The first time around, give it a quick read-through to get the general idea and really spark your interest in what you like most (even though you should learn everything, you'll naturally gravitate towards some techniques more than others).

The second time, obviously, we'll read the book slowly and methodically, step by step.

(This process should take at least a year of your life, between reading chapters, and practicing and repeating the techniques).

And..., from there...., for subsequent reads, pair it with this:

As an introduction to card magic, in my opinion, it's very comprehensive.

Happy holidays and good magic!!!

Hey, my name's Gabriel! I'm pretty new to magic, but I'm still eager to pick up a lot more effects.

If you want to learn card tricks or a variety of other magic, I recommend looking up magician Ítalo Castillo or magician Handlich on YouTube.
