Hey everyone, I'm Xes (13 years old) from Lugo!
I got into magic when I first saw a movie about magicians. The movie was "The Prestige," and after watching it, I started watching a DLM video on how to make a card vanish. Since then, I've been learning more about this amazing world. After a while, I bought the "How to Be a Magician 2.0" kit and did two mini-shows with the tricks included, plus a few others I already knew. I'd love to learn how to create a thread that ties a whole routine of tricks together, as I find it really challenging and I'm amazed by the people who can do it. All the best!

Welcome Xes.
Yeah, we all face that problem!
Linking effects into a routine is an art that you learn over time (and sometimes never).
To start off, why don't you try linking your effects using a common element? Let me explain: For example, if you open your set with a deck of cards and then you have an effect with a rubber band, tie the deck with the rubber band, show it, and leave the rubber band nearby. When you finish the card trick, say something like, “Oh, look at this rubber band. Did you know it has magical properties?….
And then perform the rubber band effect.
As you develop a solid storyline that helps you link your routine together, try this tip: let the previous effect open the door for the next one.
Good luck and all the best!
You know, that hadn't even crossed my mind. I was trying to make the tricks illustrate something within a story, kind of like a monologue, but that's way cooler. Thanks so much, Mario!!!
