Anyone with 52to1 Knowledge?
Well, I think this deck has a lot of potential. Now, for my request for help.
Anything localized in Spanish?
Thanks in advance.

What's great about that deck is how strong the effect is.
The downside is that it can only be used for that one trick, and it's also very repetitive (3 consecutive revelations).
It's the kind of trick that clearly has a lot of potential but is severely underutilized. Like I often do with effects like this, I shelf it until I find something to link it into a full routine, or that complements other tricks. In the case of the 52x1, I even asked a professional magician for help to get more out of it because I couldn't come up with anything.
His solution was:
1st revelation, low cards: The one from the trick, cutting the deck (gambler style).
2nd revelation, high cards: The magician visualizes a number (the 13 from the top), that many cards are dealt off, and the last one is the spectator's chosen card (mentalist).
3rd revelation, middle cards: The spectator's chosen card vanishes from the deck and appears in an envelope (double-sided, obviously) under the mat (magician).
Always asking what the card is right before the revelation to know which out to use. For the magician's option, you need to remove the middle cards (I think a 7 and an 8) from the deck. Those same cards can go into the double-sided envelope.
If you can think of anything better, or something that complements or improves the routine, please don't hesitate to share it publicly. I'm very interested in getting more out of this effect.
Hey everyone. In Spanish, I only found one review on YouTube (As de magia) that shows a different routine than Wayne Fox's and David Penn's. Nothing too groundbreaking; the main difference was that it showed the cards fanned. You can also see the same effect in a semifinal of Got Talent España, where Pablo Cerastes performed it.
In the instructional video (the one by Fox and Penn, which is in English), they explain the secret of the deck and that routine.
@corderolosada:
Absolutely, but I think you'll have to get creative (like everyone else). Once you know the secret, you just have to figure out where you can incorporate it.
Cheers.
Hey everyone, I've been thinking about how the 52-on-1 deck could be used for "The Gambler, Magician, Mentalist" routine, with some variations. The spelling of the cards wouldn't work because the gimmick would be visible (plus, two cards – the 3 and 8 of Diamonds – have the same number of letters).
For the Gambler phase of the patter, I think it's easy to justify, since a gambler is an expert at cutting to the card they need. So, they'd only have to know if the card is high, medium, or low (here, they'd cut based on the 52-on-1 deck's inherent effect) and then ask the spectator to name the card. Then, they'd show the card right where they cut.
For the Magician phase, what I thought of was arranging the cards according to their numerical value (2, 3, 7, 8, Jack, Queen) and then counting the cards. Once the magician snaps over the deck, they would tell the spectator that their card is at the position that matches its value (for example, if it's the 7 of Spades, the card would be in the 7th position from the top).
And the Mentalist part stays the same.
What I'm still not convinced about is that I don't see a clear connection between the Gambler's and the Magician's procedures. In the original version, both characters spell out the name of the card; the Gambler arranges them with cuts, and the Magician arranges them with a snap. In this version I'm proposing, I don't see a clear way to relate the procedures.
If you think this is a good adaptation and have any ideas to improve it, we'll have another use for this deck and another trick for our repertoire.
Cheers,
Thanks a lot, Ricardo!
I'll start brainstorming and let you know what happens. I've got something in mind with some gaffed cards and a forcing deck.
Thanks, my friend, I'll give your suggestion some more thought.
