Any Card Magic Tricks for Video Calls?
Turns out, on a Discord server (if you're not familiar, it's like a public WhatsApp group), they announced a "mini got talent" competition. My mind totally went blank trying to think of any tricks that would play well and not drag on. If you guys know any card magic suitable for video calls – something engaging that doesn't get too boring with a deck of cards – I'd really appreciate your ideas!
P.S.: No worries if nothing comes to mind, I can always figure something out ;))

Cheers!
My apologies for the delay, I hadn't opened the club page yet, haha.
I did a trick that's part of a sandwich routine I really like, where, at the end, the spectator's card appears between the two Jokers when I toss them out. I can send the tutorial if anyone wants it ;))
And then I did a version of Dani DaOrtiz's ACAAN. I came in third against two other people who performed clearly different effects, and it went pretty well 👌
Well, I think there are plenty of options that don't require a close-up mat. You could do something with mentalism, like any Force where you then divine their selection. As long as you create a good presentation, something simple like that works really well.
Personally, with my style of magic, I'd go for some comedic mentalism where you're pretending to read their mind. An Invisible Deck could work, though you'd have to watch the angles. Something with the magic lightbulb could also be an option; the only catch is it can't be examined since no one on the video call can reach through the phone, I guess 😅.
A Chicago Opener, or if you have the Changing Dot, I think that could work too. All in all, I see quite a few options.
But don't put too much stock in my advice, since I'm far from an expert or advanced in magic, so🤣... Still, I hope it helps 😉.

Thanks for the reply!
I'll definitely consider the forces, though I've also been thinking about an ACAAN where the spectator names the number the card will appear at, and things like that... I'll look into it! ;))
Hey Julia, the first thing that came to mind was Juan Capilla's Blow, although you might not have that. So, you could put together a routine with transpositions since they're pretty angle-proof, and if you perform them quickly and clearly, I'm sure it'll be a big hit.
