Help with the Vanishing Coffee Trick! ☕✨

Hey everyone:

A year ago, I bought the vanishing coffee trick, but I haven't used it yet because I can't find the exact dimensions for the glass I need. 😅 If anyone else who bought this trick knows the dimensions or where to get the right glass, it would be a huge help! 🙏

Thanks in advance for your help. And Merry Christmas!

Hey @Javi1!

Coffee, or cola/soda works too.

but I still haven't used it because I can't find the exact size of cup needed

There are several versions of that product.

Typically, the American versions are designed for the standard cups from their commercial franchises in the US (like Coca-cola and Starbucks).

Since the cup sizes for those products often vary by country, it's very likely they won't fit perfectly from one country to another.

One option is to collect all sorts of containers from every place you visit (McDonald's, Burger King, Starbucks, etc.) and then try them out.

The fastest option I can think of (and to avoid accumulating useless cups) is to get a caliper, measure your gimmick, and then take the caliper with you to check all the cups you come across.

Obviously, carrying your gimmick around to test them "in situ" isn't the best idea 😅.

This cup should work for you:

1734794692012|375x500

1734794803691|375x500

Hope this helps!!!

I picked up a pack at a magic shop, and it's a perfect fit. It even came with 10 units because you have to ruin a glass every time you perform it. Hope that helps, and good luck!

Zeta, is that Starbucks cup from Spain or something?

Yep, it's from here.

Luckily, in my city (Ourense), we still don't have a franchise of THESE COFFEE RIP-OFF ARTISTS (just my opinion), but they do sell them in grocery stores.

And this specific flavor (the caramel one) I just love 😅.

Even if I buy it, one thing doesn't negate the other.

It costs 2 euros, which is, honestly, a total rip-off for the amount of coffee you get... but it's tasty.

Could you also give me the measurements or specifics so I can buy the right kind of cup on Amazon without having to buy the coffee?

Thanks, Zeta, and Merry Christmas (even if it's just a day away!)

Could you tell me the measurements or something so I can buy some specific cups on Amazon, without having to buy the coffee?

The measurements depend on your gimmick; you just need to know its diameter for comparison.

Honestly, buying 'specific cups' for this seems a bit excessive.

That gimmick is specifically designed to be performed 'in situ' – meaning you should be able to go into any bar or coffee shop and use their cups to do the trick.

As a magician, you wouldn't pull out 'a specific plastic cup' to do the trick for them. In my opinion, you shouldn't, as it would look suspicious, especially if you're in a coffee shop that has its own cups.

So, what's the issue? Is the gimmick too small or too large for typical coffee shop plastic cups?

If it's too small... hmmm, that's tricky.

But if it's too large, you can always trim it down and adapt it to the cups you prefer (or, more realistically, to the ones you're most likely to find at nearby coffee shops/bars).

Cheers!!!
