Rick & Morty Deck
Hey everyone!!!!
Today I'm here to share a new experience I had recently, one that often makes us magicians a bit nervous: buying magic from AliExpress. In this case, it was a POKER deck inspired by the "Rick & Morty" series. Today I'd like to review this deck in case it's something you might be interested in too.
THE BOX
The box quality is a bit lower than the poker decks we usually use; it doesn't look like it'll last very long. As for the design, it's not bad; it's simple, and the print quality is good.
THE BACK
Once you open the deck, you'll find an asymmetrical back design that's subtle enough for spectators not to notice, which makes it really good for various effects. If you know how to use it right, it can become a valuable tool. The design isn't bad, and the print quality is good, though I'd prefer it with a white border. But hey, to each their own!
THE FACES
The faces are the main reason I bought this deck. All the cards are customized, and the court cards feature characters from the series. It comes with 2 Jokers that have a great design and some pretty cool Aces. I'd say it's a really solid collector's deck.
FINISH AND HANDLING
Regarding the finish, if you look closely, you might think it has a Bicycle-like (Air Cushion) finish, but honestly, it doesn't at all. For an AliExpress deck, it's pretty decent, but it wouldn't compete with any professional-grade deck we know. It handles pretty well for its price and can definitely get the job done in many situations, though I wouldn't recommend it as an "everyday" deck. It fans and spreads nicely.
SIZE
One thing to note about this deck is that it's slightly smaller than conventional poker decks. While that might be a drawback for many, for me, it's not so bad since I have small hands, and it makes palming cards much easier. In the photo, you can see a comparison with a Bicycle card, and while it might not show up much, you definitely notice it more when you're holding the deck.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I've been testing out the deck for a while now, and one thing I wanted to mention is that it's not great for "Double Lifts," as the cards tend to separate easily because of their finish. But I guess with a lot of practice, you could get it down.
MY VERDICT
I think it's a perfect collector's deck if you can't afford really expensive ones, but not a deck for daily use or taking out to perform due to its finish. If you're a fan of the series, I 100% recommend it!
(I'm not including a purchase link because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to.)

I'm a huge fan of the show, and I ordered that deck a while back, maybe a year and a half ago. I agree with everything in your analysis, except for the quality.
It's pretty low quality, laminated plastic, and doesn't handle well at all. The designs are really cool, yeah, but I wouldn't do card magic with it.
Theory11 released a Rick and Morty deck a few months ago that's a bit more decent. You can already find it in some European shops, and I'm sure it'll be available in Spanish shops soon at a reasonable price. With that one, I'd definitely try some tricks related to the series.
Honestly, you're absolutely right; it's more of a collector's deck than one for actually performing magic.
I was checking out the Theory11 one a while back too. It's already available in some Spanish magic shops, but price-wise, it's more cost-effective to just pay for shipping from the brand's official website.
