Cartas como armas - Cards As Weapons - Ricky Jay
In case you're not familiar with it yet.
Book:
This video popped up on YouTube;
When I saw it, I remembered this really surprising, wonderful, and unusual book (I assume it's for adults by today's standards, as it contains nudity, very mild...but still enough to mention) which was one of the first I read many years ago in an attempt to do it myself... and to this day, I still can't 😅
Regardless, it's an amazing and magical skill (and I've always had a soft spot for Gambit from the X-Men).
Note: The full nudes in the book feature a female model (a friend of Ricky Jay's), and in my opinion, for the time (1977 in the U.S.), they were quite normal.
They're not at all sexual; even with the model's full nudity, you only see her breasts and nipples (which would be enough to get censored today), they're essentially poses demonstrating hand placement for card throwing, but they're definitely out of context today.
Regardless, it's a great book, even if I didn't get much out of it myself 😅 because I still can't throw cards worth a darn.

Well, Mark Rober might be from NASA, but he's lazier than the guy who drew the Japanese flag....
There are special throwing cards called Banshee cards; they hum when they fly. They're often used by folks who enjoy this flourish.
The card-throwing battle from "Now You See Me" (2013) is priceless:
This is fantastic!
It really highlights the incredible ingenuity of humankind!!
