Cartomagia Fundamental by Vicente Canuto - With Eduardo Coffman - YouTube Videos

THIS ISN'T A COURSE, NOR A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE BOOK

(Obviously, you should, or rather, *must* read the book at least once, before watching these videos).

In fact, it's really geared towards magicians who have read and reread it multiple times.

An analysis of the book Cartomagia Fundamental by Vicente Canuto, by Eduardo Coffman and Jovi (President of the SEI in Seville).

Honestly, in my opinion, a fantastic effort, representing many hours of work, and it's completely free.

A perfect complement to such a wonderful book.

(I wish I'd had access to videos like these when I first read the book; it would have sped things up considerably)

This week I was listening to them like a podcast while I worked, and I'm looking forward to watching the videos calmly. It's a book I've read countless times, and I think in terms of commentary, these videos are a great additional resource (they're more like tips, advice, suggestions, or whatever you want to call them, on the explanations provided in the book).

If you have the book, you'll definitely find this interesting.

(Or maybe not... In my magic group, there are 6 of us, and half of us like Eduardo Coffman, while the other half can't stand him 🙄. So I guess it really comes down to how each person's teaching style resonates with you.)

And if you don't own Canuto's book, what are you waiting for?! 🤣 🤣 🤣 .

(honestly, the videos don't make much sense without the book. It's a supplement, not the entire book broken down into video, so if you haven't read the book, just watching the videos will leave you lost on many points).

Thank you so much for putting this compilation together.

I really appreciate you sharing these valuable videos with us; they're always helpful for reviewing or correcting techniques that might have been learned improperly or haven't been fully developed yet.

All the best,

Honestly, that's some amazing work. I'd put it down halfway and just finished going through it. Indeed, The Canuto is a truly fundamental book, as its title suggests.

I have a question: What do you all think about substituting blank face cards with double back cards at the end of the "Computer Virus" effect, changing the premise from "the virus deletes the information" to "the virus encrypts the information, so you can't see it"? (I don't have blank face cards, but I do have double back cards, which is why I thought of it.)

Cheers,

That sounds like a good idea, assuming you can adapt to what you've got 😊.

(And yeah, it's true that paying more than double for a blank-faced deck compared to a regular one can be pretty annoying at first)

Think of it as a "deck switch"; you can change to whatever you want.

As long as the backs are the same, the faces can be anything you want (depending on the story you tell).

They could even transform into a Spanish deck.

This is a great contribution! It'll be really helpful with the book, so I can further refine the knowledge I'm getting from it.

The videos are fantastic; I recommend watching them with the book right there.
