Tips for Loops

Hey everyone,

I'm a beginner with loops, and I'm wondering what their actual limits are. How far can I really stretch them, just to get a good feel for their capabilities?

Also, any other tips, besides lighting and such, would be great!

Thanks a ton!

Loops aren't hard to use, but I know from experience that at first, you're worried they might snap. I think the best option is to stretch them out before you use them.

Got it, thanks!

Hey there!

@XdeXavi_p1:

I'm a beginner when it comes to loops, and I'd like to know their limits—how much I can stretch them to get an idea.

First off, just so you know, there's already a similar thread (in case you haven't seen it).

As @jorgeapariciodedios mentioned,

@jorgeapariciodedios:

Loops aren't hard to use

But it takes practice (and practice and practice and practice... 😅 it's a 'loop'!).

Seriously, the more comfortable you get with them, the better you'll handle them, and the less likely they'll break.

But the only way to reach that level is by practicing.

Other than that, if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

And if you want, check out the loop knitter (it'll save you a lot of money on loops early on).

Oh man, the videos are right up here, haha. I didn't even see them, haha.

Alright, I've watched the video. It's crystal clear now. Thanks for putting in the effort. After seeing that, I'm definitely getting it. Thanks again!

Hey everyone. Regarding loops, could any of you give me some advice when it comes to creating loops with a roll of Mesika thread? I've tried, but with these fingers, tying the knots is impossible. Any tips?

Hey @angelgonza76.

Apologies for the late reply.

Just to kick things off...

I'm assuming you're using magician's wax or Blu Tack to work with the thread, right?

Did you make the thread gimmick? Did you watch my videos?

If so, could you specify what your problem is when tying the knots, or where exactly it's happening?

Hey Jose Luis,

No, I haven't seen your videos. If you don't mind linking them here, I'll definitely check them out. A weaver? Haha, what are you telling me? I was just hoping to tie a knot and be done with it, lol. So naive of me! The thing is, I always buy my loops, but money's a bit tight lately, and when I saw that roll of Meska, I got curious if it was really worth it and if it wasn't too complicated to make them myself. That roll is pretty pricey, so I thought I'd ask for advice before buying it. I've tried tying a broken loop before, and sometimes I can, sometimes I can't, but they never turn out as good. That's why I was asking. Thanks!
