Gaff Card with Different Indices

Hey everyone,

I need to create (preferably by hand) a special gaff card that has one index in one corner and a different one in the other.

For example:

A 3 of Clubs that has the 3 of Clubs in one corner and an Ace of Hearts in the other corner.

Has anyone ever made one of these?

Thanks,

I can totally see this trick in your head @davidoliver.ramos

My advice is to print it. You can do it with a color laser printer, using blank cards. Let me see if I can find some photos from when I did it; it must have been a couple of years ago. I'll tell you, this way, to other magicians (the "dirty eyes"), it might be a little obvious, but to laypeople, it'll fly.

If you're looking for something more professional, I know some magic shops offer card printing services, and you can get some higher-quality ones made.

Another idea is to search online for companies that produce low-run custom decks, like those used for prototypes, or even just one or two, and you send them the design. That could work too.

If you want to make it by splitting cards, the cut edge will be slightly noticeable, but with careful handling, it could be another option.

I'll see if I can find my experiments for this and send you photos. Right now, I'm in my office and don't have any of this handy.

Cheers

Thanks, cdiaz.

That's exactly the effect I want to perform; it's a really solid one.

I was thinking of removing one of the pips from a 3 of Clubs with solvent and then gluing on the tiniest piece of an Ace of Hearts, but I'm not sure if it would be noticeable.

All the best,

In the Bicycle Special Deck, you'll find several cards like those (and many others).

Thanks for getting back to me.

Yeah, the shop does have what I'm looking for.

I was just hoping to DIY something and save a few bucks, because honestly, I'd probably buy out the entire store otherwise!

I wanted to do something DIY and save some money, because I'd just end up buying out the whole shop.

The laser printing option is the best. If you have Bicycle blank-faced cards, they turn out really well.
