The Best Birth Year
Hey everyone.
Does anyone have any presentation ideas for "The Best Birth Year" trick? It's taught on YouTube, but without a live performance. They say it's by Juan Tamariz, but I haven't been able to find any videos of him performing it, and I'd really love to see a live performance of it with an audience to get a better idea of how to present it.
Thanks!

I actually learned it from that video, but I wasn't entirely sold on it...
Ultimately, I decided to perform the effect because of all the positive comments on the video (yesterday was a friend's birthday, and I wanted to do something relevant to the date). Today, I asked people what they thought of the effect, and they really liked it! It seems like it creates a strong impression that the four cards genuinely get lost.
I only made one small variation: the four cards representing the year were pre-set and kept hidden from everyone (they were unknowns). Then, to "lose" them, I shuffled them up so they'd appear in order at the end. Before the reveal, I'd name the cards but not in the sequence of the year, and I'd ask the spectator if they meant anything to them (they never did, haha). Then I'd say something like, "Well, if you're truly special, then after all the commotion and chaos you've created with these cards, my four cards will magically reappear, but in a very peculiar order..." I'd then reveal them one by one until the spectator realized it was their birth year, and they were truly amazed!
Oh, and the other thing I added (which was purely for a bit of a gag) was after they picked out the four cards, I told them to deal the remaining cards in their hand any way they wanted into the three piles. Once they finished, I said, "That actually does absolutely nothing, but hey, at least you're not stuck holding them!" (That got a lot of laughs).
Anyway, thanks a lot for the reply!
There was a really low-quality video of Un, dos, tres (an old TV show), but they must have taken it down 🙄
