Hey, I've got a big question. What magic tricks do you recommend for street magic, other than the Ambitious Card?

Could you please give me some ideas? I'm always doing the same routine and I'd love to learn something new :( Thanks!

I'm going to share one of my personal favorites to perform.

It's...

Voodoo from Justin Miller

And, lucky for you (and the entire forum), it's "available" on https://magicstream.com/

So, without further ado, here's the trailer and the link to the trick.

That's really great!!! Are there any other 'free' effects available on the page? I've been looking around, but it's not clear to me.

Totally agree with @ricardorg2283. I think being able to perform the same routine a thousand times is a privilege that allows you to perfect it and learn from each previous performance. You can also take the routine you're working on and gradually tweak little things, or challenge yourself by saying, "Today I'm going to do it this way," or "Today I'm going to force the card," etc.

That's true, you have to polish all your tricks by doing them many, many times, but like, many, many, many times, even a ridiculous amount of times. But you also need to have more material if they ask you for an encore or something. Italo Castillo has a ton of great, easy magic videos on YouTube. Head over to his channel and then to the playlists.

The playlists "Intermediate Card Tricks," "Beginner Tricks," and "Easy Card Tricks" are the absolute best for getting started, and even better for street magic.

And I think there was a thread where we talked about the best tricks for street magic/impromptu—those are really good; I can't even tell you.

I can recommend Sun and Moon,
or other coin routines.
Using the Invisible Deck is also a good idea; it always plays well.

However, if you prefer something without gimmicks,
you could do Double Exposure; it's fantastic and always gets strong reactions.

Another trick you can do is Three Card Monte.
There are versions that don't require a table to perform, and it's very practical and impactful for the spectator.

There are also mathematical tricks you can do easily.

Have you checked this out yet?

Honestly, I don't really see a problem with always performing the same routine. If it's for street magic, you'll always be doing it for different people.

@Gabriel

I'm a big fan of Dai Vernon's Triumph. It's a classic that always plays strong whenever I perform it, and all you need is a deck of cards and the ability to do an in-the-hands shuffle with a control to the bottom (and, optionally, a false cut or two). If you're doing street magic, you'll also need to be able to fan the cards since you won't have a table.

Other options I think are fantastic and super easy to learn and perform, though they require more than just a regular deck, are the Chameleon Cards, the Hopping Half (coin magic), and the Jewelry Prediction (mentalism). Except for the last one, the others are available at the Magia & cardistry store.

All the best!
