Starting My Matrix Journey

Since Matrix is probably one of the effects that fascinates me most in magic, especially after seeing Luis Olmedo perform it just a few feet away from me, I started working on Luis's Matrix project. It's absolutely killer, but fair warning, things start getting super complicated around the 50-minute mark, haha!

I'm sharing a short routine to show my progress so far... Right now, Paul Harris's steal is giving me a bit of trouble.

I'm sharing this to get your thoughts on the timing and all that (I couldn't care less about likes or anything like that; I'm sharing to learn, not for some teenage crap).

Excellent! The timing, the gestures... all great.

Just a thought: I always handle the 4 cards the same way, whether one is being stolen or not. Here, on the fourth one, it looks different, much cleaner, and I'd keep it consistent to avoid tipping anything. Although you could argue that when you're down to just one, you can make an exception... yeah.

There are arguments for everything, but that concept of "uniformity of motion" in magic really resonates with me, especially when it comes to moves versus no moves.

Best,

Rafa

Thanks for your kind words, Rafa.

Well, I just followed Luis Olmedo's instructions on the Matrix project, hehe.

But little by little, to be honest, I'm still not entirely comfortable with Paul Harris's Steal yet, but hey... I'm getting there! I'll change how I ditch the 4th card to maintain consistency of motion. 🫡
