First Communion Gigs

Hey everyone!

I have a First Communion gig next week.

I've already picked out my set list, but there are two I'm unsure about.

The Traffic Light and The Discs.

These two:

(The second one isn't the exact trick, but it's the same idea. I can't find another video).

My concern is whether they're too old for these tricks.

I know the others will play well, but since these kids are 9-10 years old, I'm not sure if these will be "too simple" for them.

Thanks for your help!

Isabel

Thank you so much! Well, I'm definitely going to give it a try! Let's see how it goes... haha

SERIOUSLY, THANKS!

That sounds good to me. It would all come down to the patter you use.

Hello there,

I think both effects are well-suited for the occasion.

Just tailor the

Patter to the party's theme, and if you can, incorporate some details about the honoree into the effects.

Good luck and congratulations on this new challenge!!!

I agree that presentation is crucial for your tricks to really shine at a communion gig (and, frankly, in any other situation as well).

If you can, I'd suggest interacting with the audience by asking questions. For the traffic light trick, for instance, you could ask, "Which ball ended up on top?" before lifting the opaque cylinder. Then you can play it up with some jokes, something like, "I asked about what was on top, not what was underneath... Alright, let's try that again!"

Wishing you much success!
