Cell Phone Magic
I saw a magic trick where the spectator named a number, the magician took out their phone, and the time dropped by that many minutes. For example, if it was 9:30 and the spectator said 5, the time would decrease until it showed 9:25. Then, the spectator would take out their own phone, and it would actually be 9:25. Does anyone know the name of the app for this?

Hey everyone. I wanted to share an effect I came up with using an app I found browsing the web (the only downside is it requires an internet connection, at least the free version). It's free to use, and there's also a paid option.
It's somewhat similar to the Invisible Deck. Anyway, here it is. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions to improve it, etc.
Cheers,
Patter
“We live in a world where everything is connected. In fact, technological advancements constantly strive for this level of connection. The clearest example is the cell phone, which not only allows for human communication but also lets us connect with other devices, equipment, and so on. Well, us magicians aren't going to be left behind, so I'm going to try to establish a connection between a cell phone and a deck of cards.”
Effect
The magician displays a cased deck and leaves it in plain sight.
A spectator selects a card on the magician's cell phone.
The magician passes the phone over the deck.
The magician, or the spectator, removes the deck and shows that the chosen card is the only one reversed.
Preparation
Place the card to be Forced with the phone reversed in the middle of the deck, inside the case.
Method
The magician displays a deck inside its case and places it on the table, in plain sight. He takes out his cell phone and launches the Select a Card app (https://apkcombo.com/es/magic-trick-force-a-card/com.emre.selectacard/) while telling the patter.
He then shows a sequence of cards scrolling rapidly on the phone, and each time the screen is touched, it stops on a card. He does this several times to demonstrate that it can stop on any card.
Finally, a spectator selects a card using the method previously demonstrated. Then the magician moves the phone, displaying the selected card's image, over the deck to “establish the connection.”
When the deck is removed from the case and spread, all the cards are facing one way, and only the spectator's chosen card is reversed.
Plus
The effect can be repeated a second time, as the app allows for Forcing two cards. For this, you would just need to have the second card to be Forced prepared in the deck and reverse it when placing the cards back in the case. All of this without the audience noticing (the card could be on the bottom, it would be reversed with the left hand while holding it with the right hand by the short ends (the classic move), and then a swing cut would set it in place).
As an example, based on what you mentioned (and since there's no specific video for the trick in question), the app would look something like this;
I'd take a screenshot of your locked phone (it could also be unlocked, but I think this is better),
(Here's mine)
Everything would be static except for the clock, which would be the functional part and would display the phone's actual time.
And, once we activate the app, something like this should appear;
So, when the number is called out, we pull out the phone and activate the app (or have it already activated), tap the spectator's chosen number (the number panel obviously vanishes), that number gets added to the current time, and then a countdown begins (with a few seconds' delay, giving us time to deliver our patter/dialogue/presentation as we display it), ultimately setting the correct time.
I know this is a bit of a simple example, but I don't have much more time today. I hope it's useful.
All the best!!!
The app is called Timeline. If you tell me how, I'll try to share it here. Cheers!

👍
@alex:
If it's a paid app, I'd advise against sharing anything here :slight_smile:
You can share the app with whoever you want via your phone or through private channels.
Just tap and hold on the app (long press) until the share option appears.
(in my example, I'm using the Mnemonica app)
When sent, they'll ALWAYS be called "base.apk," but it'll still be the same application.
Then just send it to whoever you want via WhatsApp (or any other method you have on your phone).
Theoretically, it's not "super legal" (with paid apps), but it can be done.
So one person pays for the app and then shares it among a group of friends.
You can also upload it to Google Drive (for example) and then share that link privately.
Cheers!
Hey Alex! Could you send me the app?
Hey Alex, could you send me the app?
Hey Alex, I'd really appreciate it if you could send me the application too when you get a chance. Thanks in advance.
I want to learn too; my audience would love it if someo
ne showed us how to use the app.
@malbisudlf2:
Hey there, I have no clue what app that might be.
Honestly, creating an app to do that is about as simple and basic as it gets. 😅
Of course, that's if you know how, but it'd be tough not to know someone nearby who can program an app, right? Nowadays, you even have programs that help you do it yourself.
The app would only need to add the spectator's chosen number to the correct time (before showing it), then add a few seconds' delay while you do your 'acting' so it can subtract that number again and revert to the correct time.
See, it's not much more than that 😊. Basically, that's it; the rest is presentation (and don't do the trick near a public clock that shows the actual time 😂).
Hey there! I've been a bit out of touch, dealing with some things I had pending. What can I do for you?
What's this you're putting out there, LOL? Seriously though, if you can share it, I'd really appreciate it.
Hey man, could you send me the app, please?
Hey Alex, I sent you a private message. If you could send it my way, I'd really appreciate it. I can give you my email if you like.
I want the app too
I need the link urgently, if you can send it to me privately.
I'd like the app too, please!
Count me in! :) I want to learn too.
