Magic for Kids
Hey there, I've got an upcoming gig performing magic for kids. They're between 6 and 13 years old, and there are about 20 of them. The show needs to be between 45 minutes and an hour. What effects could I perform that flow well together?

Yesterday I was at a kids' magic show, and it lasted over an hour.
He performed the whole show with just a table and six drawers.
I'll give you a quick overview because otherwise, it would be too long.
He kept opening drawers, pulling out props for his tricks, and always brought kids up on stage.
He used a change bag (the kind they sell at Magia&cardistry) and four different colored silks, which he produced either knotted together or forming a flag. He also used a deck of cards a bit larger than normal. A card was selected, torn into pieces, and put into a black bag. Then the magician pulled out one piece and a folded card – it was the same card, but with that piece missing. There was a regular wand that bent in a child's hands. He had a stuffed animal that divined the child's chosen card. He put the plushie into a paper cone, and when he opened it, it showered paper scraps, as if the plushie had just produced the Four of Diamonds on a newspaper sheet. He wrapped things up with a rope trick. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well, but I hope this helps you out a bit. Let me know if you need any clarification!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of the 6 drawers as a mystery element and a link between the tricks.
Hey there!
I'm around that age (won't get specific), and I'd advise you not to underestimate us.
My 11-year-old sister saw Julio Ribera perform the Triumph effect he explains on YouTube just once, and she figured it out right away.
Of course, that's not a professional-level effect, but I wouldn't recommend performing weak effects because you'll get busted too easily.
Personally, card magic has fascinated me since I was 10, but that really comes down to individual taste.
All the best, and good luck!
