I just watched this video I'm linking below, all about Magic and Humor by Tamariz. It's a lecture where THE MASTER himself talks about how and when to use humor and comedy in your magic without ever detracting from the effect. While it's particularly geared towards comedy magicians, it really applies to all types of performers.
