Mnemonica

Hey everyone, I recently picked up Tamariz's Mnemonica book, and honestly, I haven't quite grasped the concept or the stack order. Could anyone give a quick rundown? I'm sure others in the club would be interested too. Thanks!

Hey everyone!!!

@gutierrezlizarraldeg:

Could someone give a quick summary?

Honestly, a summary is pretty much out of the question 😅.

When I first started with it, I wished for some method or secret to skip all the reading, because initially, it seemed tedious and literally gave me a headache (the only method is to learn it the way Juan teaches you).

FIRST AND FOREMOST.., you have to learn the stack, no ifs, ands, or buts.

You can memorize it in maybe 4 days, 13 cards per day.

Then, even if you "know" it, you'll realize that fluidity is a completely different beast than just knowing the order. You'll need at least a month to get really fluid when it comes to quickly answering questions about each card's position.

You'll practice, practice, practice, and practice the card order until it's second nature.

For example, What card do you need to place on the bottom for the 8 of Spades to be in position 29?.

This app is wonderful for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alvaritez.mnemonicosis&hl=es&gl=US

And once you've learned the stack PERFECTLY, that's when you start reading the book 😊

And that's about it.

Cheers!!!

Edited:

The app saves you from all of Juan's practical examples, but I still recommend you use them anyway. For me, the best one involves the deck....

1709706227690|375x500

1709706227672|375x500

1709706227655|666x500

Another method I've used is making four recordings on your phone.

Block 1 (cards 1 to 13), Block 2 (cards 14 to 26), Block 3 (cards 27 to 39), and Block 4 (cards 40 to 52).

Using your own voice, you dictate the list (card number 1, 4 of Clubs; card number 2, 2 of Hearts....) and set it as your phone's alarm to wake you up.

Believe it or not, on a subconscious level, it gets ingrained in your mind as you wake up.

And that's all I have to add.

The important thing is to memorize it really well. Once you know it, you'll understand the effects better and learn them faster.

And now, really, I've got nothing else to add.

Cheers!!!

Hey there, I totally agree with you. I'm also super interested in learning and mastering the ins and outs of a memorized deck; it's got tremendous potential for routines, with impossible effects that are guaranteed to astound and amaze any audience.

I'm sure this topic interests a lot of people.

It would be awesome if a more experienced member could give us some instruction on it.

All the best, and thanks for bringing it up!
