Expectations VS Reality
Let's be crystal clear about one thing.
NO ONE should ever say:
"I have a gig in a few days and I still don't know what I'm going to do."
"I've got an event in a few weeks and I'm not sure what effects to put in."
"Next month I have a show and I still don't know how I'm going to do it."
Frankly, that's barely (not to mention completely) professional.
It's like saying:
"I have to do a backflip with a full twist, but I've never done it before. Can someone explain how to do it?"

Magic, like anything else, requires practice, practice, and a whole lot more practice.
You can't just show up and learn what you need in a few hours or days; that's NOT ENOUGH (not if you want to do things right).
Anyone who wants to learn, truly, doesn't say things like this because they understand the value of hard work and a job well done.
So do yourselves a favor and stop thinking this way; it won't lead to anything good.
Have a great day, and good magic!!!

Wow, @Zeta, that's harsh. I was just about to ask if someone could explain the Double Coincidence to me, because I want to learn it in a couple of minutes, lol. You reminded me of the teacher from Fame 😆
Seriously though, I completely agree with what you're saying. Everyone needs to know their limitations, the time they dedicate to practice, and that there's no formula to become James Randi beyond effort (and, let's be honest, the innate talent not all of us possess). It's incredibly brazen to ask people to do your work for you, and I suppose that's what you were getting at.
Buttttt, I don't think there's anything wrong with asking questions, but they need to be phrased correctly if you're looking for answers. What you're saying about "I don't know what tricks to include," if it's phrased as "I know these tricks, and I'm not sure which ones would work best in my show," it turns a lazy question into a truly important one. And something people can actually help with.

🤔
In just a couple of minutes, I only teach how to "turn water into wine and multiply the fish", but super quickly... because I think the copyright for those effects belongs to a guy named Jesus, and he's not a big fan of people stealing his ideas...

@Lolo_Manue:
That's right.
👍
Obviously, if "you ask the right questions"(and the way you're phrasing it is the right way), it's always a pleasure to help.
