What's next?
Hey everyone,
I've been in this wonderful world for a few months now, and I'm at the point where my friends and family are aware of my magic, and it's slowly becoming part of who I am.
So sometimes people ask me to see a trick, but I find myself in a bind because I've either already shown them most of the effects in my repertoire, or I perform a routine that leaves them wanting more, and I'm not sure where to go from there. That's because, obviously, if someone asks me to do a trick, I'm the first one to whip out the deck.
The conclusion I've come to is that at the point I'm at (and speaking of card magic, which is personally the type of magic I like and enjoy the most), I'm technically not doing too bad because I can do a Double Lift, my Forces are becoming more effective, and I'm slowly learning to handle Misdirection. (All that and several other things I obviously need to improve because I haven't been in this world very long, but I do have some control). I need to expand my repertoire to satisfy my eagerness to keep learning, and also focus on giving a new spin to the effects I already do. So if you could help me with a book, a YouTube channel, or any other way to learn, it would be a huge help.
P.S. I hope this wasn't too much to read, but talking about this with people who are as passionate about it as I am seems like the best way to learn, and I hope I can help someone who might be in the same situation as me.
Magical greetings!!!!!!!!

Hey @Jess
Could you give me a quick rundown of the book or books you've read?
There are tons of books out there (too many!), and knowing what you've read will help me figure out what to recommend.
For example, here are some of the books I started with:
Cartomagia Fundamental - Vicente Canuto
Gran escuela cartomagica - Roberto Giobbi
Corinda - 13 escalones del mentalismo
La vía mágica - Juan Tamariz
Sonata - Juan Tamariz
El Libro, O No Olvides Señalar - Fertigen Finger
El Arte del cambio de baraja - Roberto Giobbi
So far, I've only had the chance to read Roberto Giobbi's Card College and The Fundamentals of Card Magic, which I'm sure I'll re-read eventually because books of that caliber require multiple reads to truly understand and absorb all the content, but I don't want to go through it again so soon.
So, I'm not sure if I should go for a book to improve my repertoire or move on to something else, like magic psychology or something along those lines.
I suggest you re-read it and watch the videos on Eduardo Coffman's YouTube Channel; I think they've done an excellent job.
I'm into card magic too! Besides Julio Ribera, I'd definitely recommend Santi Marcilla. If you're looking for some at-home tricks, check out Milaad K. And for even more card magic content, there's Borja Montón, the 'domina la magia' channel, and the 'aprendemagiagratis' channel too. Hope this helps!
