Hey! For me, Double Cross is hands down one of the best. It's super impactful, and it's a great one to start with.
Personally, I have 4 effects I always do, and every time I perform them, I always get incredible reactions.
IMPROMPTU
1-two card monte
2-Ambitious Card routine
WITH SETUP
3-french kiss
4-chicago opener
I don't have tutorials for them, but if you search around on YouTube, you're sure to find some 😉😉
Two Card Monte also works really well for me, and I haven't even mentioned it.
And then there are tricks like French Kiss and Chicago Opener; even though I don't perform them myself, they're fantastic and I really love them.
The Rising Card works really well for me.
Triumph works incredibly well for me, any version of it. It's really strong and always gets a great reaction.
I also do really well with ACAAN (Any Card At Any Number).
And finally, one of Julio Ribera's favorites, one of my absolute best, and a very well-known effect from the Ambitious Card routine — it's truly the best of the best for street magic. I hope you're familiar with it; if not, I highly recommend learning it.
Cheers!
Hey everyone!
Quick note before I head to work 😅...
I always carry with me:
During winter, with more layers..
I also carry, rounding out the 'Mesika' pack:
And that's GENERALLY the minimum I leave the house with, even if I'm just running to the supermarket and heading straight back.
But I'm not bringing this up to brag (quite the opposite, the less people know about me, the better), just so you understand that, besides cards (and I'm a super-ultra-mega card fan myself), there are many options for performing street magic.
My point is this:
Sponge balls offer a ton of possibilities.
Just a Thumb Tip alone opens up a whole world of routines.
The Nail Writer (when handled well) allows for endless mentalism effects.
With ropes alone, wow, so many effects!
And don't even get me started on what you can do with rubber bands; I'd never finish.
Basically, there are tons of alternatives (and that's not even counting the numerous gimmicks out there) when it comes to performing street magic, and it doesn't always have to involve pulling out a deck of cards.
All the best, and have a great day!!!
I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but the Invisible Deck is excellent for street magic, whether as an opener, a closer, or even as your only trick.
All the best!
Absolutely, I usually use it as a "closer."
Just like @Zeta, I always head out with some gear on me. Since I use a shoulder bag, I typically carry two Bicycle decks (one blue and one red, one for impromptu effects and the other with something set up), a Svengali deck, and then whatever else I can squeeze in: an Invisible Deck, a Stripper Deck...
Here's what's in my bag right now xD
The ropes are in there because I'm having lunch with my coworkers and I'm going to do the impossible knot routine for them.
I always do The Ambitious Card
I'd highly recommend 'The Blushing Queen' – it's a real stunner for the spectator to watch the cards change color.
