Does anyone know this effect and how it's done? I saw it and was totally blown away!

It's an editing trick where they freeze the frame with the shadow and extend its duration.
All your assistant has to do is fake their surprise.
I'm not sure if they did it this way in this video, but every time I've seen other magicians explain this "effect," that's what they said.
