Ambitious Card Technique

Hey everyone, can anyone tell me what that technique is called that's often done at the beginning of the Ambitious Card, where you flip two cards from the top of the deck, turning them over with the help of your body or thigh? I'm trying to find a tutorial for it.

Hi Gonzalo,

I understand the move you're looking for is the Double Lift. In my opinion, it's not a difficult move, but you really have to put in the work to make it flow smoothly. I'd always pair it with a solid patter so your audience isn't scrutinizing your hands too closely, especially if you're feeling a bit nervous.

I also think that YouTube videos don't always teach all the nuances, so I'd suggest rounding out your knowledge with some other material.

No, no, not the Double Lift. I'm referring to the technique shown at 1:08 in this video.

I saw him perform the routine at the magic and cardistry school during my free month, but I wasn't paying attention, and now I don't know how to do it.

If you look closely, he holds the deck close to his body and secretly flips a card to set up the Double Lift with the spectator's card.

As others have mentioned, it's not a technique per se (meaning a move known by a specific name and documented in magic literature, etc.). That particular move is just to set up the Double Lift that follows. However, to pull it off successfully (and not get caught), you'll need to employ another, more challenging technique: misdirection.

As far as I know, it's not really a specific move; he just flips the top card over one-handed.
