Jorge Blass Trick

I saw this killer trick by Jorge Blass, and I'd love to know if anyone knows what the gimmick or routine is called.

Thanks in advance!

@Javier:

I saw this awesome trick from Jorge Blass

Hmmmm, "awesome trick," I'm not so sure about that 😅.

The idea is good, but the gimmick isn't.

I'm not even sure if it's his own trick,

since I'm pretty sure I've seen other magicians perform it on Instagram.

My personal opinion...(which, as I always say, is just my take and not some absolute truth 😄)

I watch the video and don't really see MAGIC; I just see it for what it is—the gimmick with the box and the card.

I'd call it more of "a really cheesy effect," and I say that because if they ask to examine the box, it's game over 😂 😂 😂.

For stage or social media, keeping the audience at a distance, it's great.

For close-up magic, it's terrible.

The cost to make it yourself? It'll barely set you back 2 euros + a deck of cards.

As advice, I'll tell you... if you find it and it costs more than 10€ (which it probably will), don't buy it,

unless you just want to fill your magic drawer with stuff you'll never actually use.

And if you still want it, just make it yourself because it's super simple..

Cheers!

It's Paul Harris's Screwed Deck. It's a few years old now, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to find it in stores, but like @Zeta says, if you look at it twice, you'll know how to make it yourself. Cheers,

I do think it's a good effect; you just have to see the reactions, and it's well executed.

Now, the close-up limitations are a different story, and there are plenty of them, but the core idea is pretty cool. You could apply it to other things: a matchbox (the gimmick could be unloaded), a slipknot, etc.
