Card Care

Hey everyone, I'm wondering how you clean your decks, or how you keep them from getting dirty. No matter how much I wash my hands, use them on clean surfaces, and even keep them in their case, they still get black spots on them. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey there!

Even if you have an obsessive-compulsive streak like Monk or Sheldon Cooper (when it comes to cleanliness 😅), you will eventually get your cards dirty. That's because you're human, and your fingers sweat (unless you're not human? 😅).

It really depends on each person's hands. No matter how much you wash them (and washing too much can actually be counterproductive for both your skin and your card handling), your skin's pores are always there.

The point I'm trying to make is, there's no foolproof way to keep them pristine forever.

I'll point you to a couple of posts that tackle this subject:

Thanks for the reply, haha! I'm not quite at that level, but it really bugs me that after just a few uses, these little marks just appear out of nowhere. I clean them off, and they just come back, so much so that I eventually just give up and leave them. After a few days, they even start to feel sticky.

Hey everyone, here are two images (before and after) using Zinc Stearate. I'm just showing one card as an example, but the rest were all in the same or worse condition. Just like @Zeta mentioned, a little cotton and a good rub, and they're ready for another battle!
