A Deck Tragedy!

So, I was carrying my deck when it suddenly started raining, and the water managed to get into my case where I had my Stripper deck. This caused the ink to bleed, staining one entire end of the deck.

Luckily, it only slightly stained one part of the deck, but the rest of it is perfectly fine.

Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as what happened before with a Rider Back that ended up completely unusable. In this case, it was salvageable, but... it's a Stripper deck, and one side is totally ink-stained.

I'd be grateful if anyone could offer:

1) any tips for when it rains to keep my decks from getting wet.

Does anyone know how I could fix it? The deck itself works perfectly; the only issue is the stain. But being a Stripper deck, and having only one side stained, it's pretty much the worst.

The only thing I can think of is painting it somehow. If anyone knows a way to cover the stain, or how to paint it, or any other way to fix it, I'd really appreciate it.

Hey @magicamente, if we're talking about "reviving" them, I recommend Zinc Stearate (https://magigram.com/es/club/cardistry/fanning-powder-o-simplemente-estearato-de-zinc-1106/). It's simple and easy to use, and it should get rid of most of the moisture and stains.

In my opinion, my best advice would be... don't use cards when it's raining (especially if you don't want them to get wet).

If that happened to me, I'd already be setting that deck aside, keeping it for practice at home (or for any gimmick) and replacing it with a new one (full disclosure, I make my own stripper decks, so replacing them isn't a big deal for me).

As for painting them, you could try (in the style of Gilded decks) with a permanent marker. It could look good, though it'll depend on how you do it and your steady hand 😅.

Otherwise, don't sweat it! As they are, you can use them as "special decks" that survived a shipwreck and have mystical powers.... 😊

Imagination is key!

For transporting a waterproof deck, I was thinking you could use one of those phone pouches that are made for the beach or underwater. You'd just need to find one that's the right size for a deck.
