[Street Magic] Challenge 1 - Together, We'll Go Far

⚠️ This challenge is part of the Street Magic course ; only complete it if you're a student. Goals for this challenge: Introduce yourself to your fellow magicians. Tell us your goal for this course. Example: Hi, I'm Julio Ribera! I'm a magician from Valencia, Spain. I'm 25 years old (and I turn another year older on February 27th) and I've been involved in magic for over a decade. One of the things that inspired me most when I started was discovering David Blaine's TV specials where he performed street magic. I'd watch the recordings over and over until I figured out the secret to his tricks. Obviously, I don't recommend doing that because it takes a lot longer and you learn the techniques incorrectly (it took me a long time to correct them later 😂). Since then, street magic and card magic have become my two biggest passions. MY GOAL WITH THIS COURSE: I want to build a repertoire of magic tricks that allows me to always be ready to create moments of wonder anywhere, anytime, even if I don't have a deck of cards on me. Now it's your turn! Reply to this post with your introduction and course goal.

[Street Magic] Challenge 2 - Magic Mindset

⚠️ This challenge is part of the Street Magic course , so please complete it only if you're a student. Challenge Objectives: Find your favorite street magic video. Analyze what was done well and what could be improved. Example: Good points: Confidence: His confidence is noticeable to the audience, allowing him to gain full control and attention from his spectators. Clear Effects: David Blaine's magic focuses on a clear, powerful magical effect. This gets strong reactions without much talking (which is part of his persona). Areas for Improvement: Magic vs. Effect: In this video, David focuses solely on the effect. He does trick after trick, but nothing truly memorable happens beyond the specific moment of the effect, and there's no real connection or meaning. He's improved this over the years, and now he doesn't just do tricks; he creates genuine stories of impossibility. Now it's your turn! Reply to this post with your analyzed magic video 💪🏻.

[Street Magic] Challenge 4 - Are You Up For It?

⚠️ This challenge is part of the Street Magic course ; only complete it if you're a student. Challenge Goals: Perform magic for strangers on the street. Share your video or written experience. Example: I want to share this routine performing magic for seniors, because there are some lessons you might find useful: Younger people quickly grasp that you have a camera for creating social media content, whereas seniors have a harder time understanding it and often think you're asking for money. To earn the trust of younger folks, you need to be the one engaging in conversation to make them feel at ease, but with seniors, you really need to listen. They're incredibly grateful, and there's nothing better than bringing magic to people of all ages and from all walks of life 😊. Let's spread the wonder!

[Street Magic] Challenge 3 - Go For It!

⚠️ This challenge is part of the Street Magic course , for students only. Challenge Objectives: Organize a small routine of 2 or 3 tricks. Perform your magic routine for someone. Record yourself or share in writing what effects you did and how the experience went. Analyze what went well and what could be improved. Example: What Went Well: The Smile: It's crucial for building trust when approaching strangers and creating a pleasant atmosphere. Audience Participation: The spectators are the stars of the show, and I, as the magician, take a back seat. One girl picks the card, and another guesses where it is (I practically just hold the deck). They tell me the numbers to input on their own phone calculator, and even the rubber band magic happens right in their hands. Areas for Improvement: Closer: Add a stronger closing effect to wrap up the routine. Pauses: This is something I personally struggle with a lot. I need to learn to incorporate moments of silence so they can process what they've just experienced and truly savor the magic; otherwise, they don't have time to react. Now it's your turn! Reply to this post with your magic experience (on video if possible) and analyze what went well and what could be improved.
