Card Throwing
Hey everyone!
I caught the F1 movie with Brad Pitt the other day (loved it, highly recommend!) and he throws cards in a way I hadn't seen before. It's like he shoots them out with pressure, without any wrist flick or anything. He just holds it with one hand, like he squeezes it, and the card shoots right out. If anyone knows how to learn this, please share a link!

Hey @Magnus
I'm not into F1 (watching it, though I do like the video games), Brad Pitt is whatever..., and I absolutely despise movie theaters (I really can't stand people who go to the movies and don't know how to watch a film quietly without making annoying noises while eating, which is... basically everyone).
That's why streaming is the best for me.
What I mean is that "I haven't seen the scene where he throws it," but I can deduce it.
What you're describing is a classic card throwing (or spinning) technique used by many people.
References I know of... Michael Ammar in his Flying Card effect or Rich Ferguson in some of his flourishes. But they're not the only ones.
It's very simple: hold the card between your thumb and index finger, gripping it from short corner to short corner, apply pressure, and release with your index finger.
Practice it, practice it, practice it, etc...........(until you're blue in the face)
And eventually, you'll have full control over where it shoots.
And that's pretty much it.
Cheers and good magic!!!
Hey,
In the latest video I uploaded to Instagram, I use that technique to produce one of the aces.
Check it out, because I'm not hiding the move. It's like Zeta says, but a picture is worth a thousand words.
Cheers,
