Levitation, Shop Products, & a Possible 'Manual Loop Knitter' Tutorial

Good morning (for those in Spain), and good whatever time it is for the rest of the world!

I created this thread to make a suggestion about the section on 'Levitation and Telekinesis' (https://magiaycardistry.com/categoria/magia/tipo/levitacion-y-telekinesis/), which I find a bit limited when it comes to threads and spools.

The Mesika thread spool is decent (https://magiaycardistry.com/producto/hilo-invisible-elastico-mesika/), and I'm not arguing with that. But honestly, it feels like you're paying more for the packaging than for the quality of the thread itself.

That's why I wanted to ask if it would be possible to introduce some more affordable spools, like "Invisible Elastic Thread Supreme" (elastic) or "Invisible Kevlar Thread - Sorcery" (regular).

Again, Mesika is fine, but you're paying more for the "Brand" than the quality (please Mesika... don't hate me for saying that... 😅 )

I think it would be good to offer a more affordable product.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, and since it's relevant, I wanted to share something... in case you find it feasible to offer more affordable spools. My method for making loops.

A quick backstory:

I think all of us magicians, sooner or later, end up tapping into our inner engineer...

A few years ago, I designed a manual loop knitter (Manual Loop Knitter). It was quite simple but effective, and I wanted to release it as a product, but... a magician friend told me:

"the industry sells refills; they're not interested in selling the machine to make them. You should make them yourself and sell them."

And well, that kind of held me back. He was partly right.

To be clear, in the end, I mostly made them for myself. I barely sold a few packs, and only to a couple of magician buddies, and that was it.

To cut a long story short, and so you understand, I'm an electrician, electronics technician, and IT specialist by trade. That means I've already developed and have the plans for a mechanical version of that knitter, which I now think would be better to release as a product, if I ever do.

A sort of Knitter V2 (Loop Knitter V2), though the project is on hold, and if I ever do it, it'll definitely just be for me.

With the manual one, I made 2000 loops in a month, and for now, I have enough to last me a long time, which is why I haven't bothered to create the mechanical version.

I think the secrets are good up to a certain point, but I also believe in sharing ideas.

Getting back to the topic.

I'll keep the mechanical knitter for myself, but the manual one... I wouldn't mind sharing it.

After all, I don't think I'm the only person in the world who's had this idea (though I might be the first to talk about it, as I haven't found anything on the subject).

Well, there you have it.

• If there's interest, first, more affordable materials in the shop 😅 (that way I don't have to shop around like in a supermarket, going from one place to another to find deals).

• Second, lots of likes on this post (I don't know how many members are on the forum these days, but if there's no interest, I won't bother posting anything).

• And finally, and importantly, that the moderators give me their blessing... if it's not okay, I won't do it (this would be the first time I've published this, aside from another magician friend; no one else has seen it from my end).

Cheers everyone, and good magic!!!

Since I've got Julio's blessing.

@Julio Ribera:

Everything you've mentioned sounds perfect to me.

And he's committed to finding more affordable thread...

@Julio Ribera:

We'll look for more affordable thread to add to the shop, and it's a fantastic contribution for all the magicians you teach to make your own Loops.

Thanks!

A HUGE THANK YOU to you, Julio.

That's all the encouragement I need to share and publish one of my best secrets. To this day, I'm not aware of anyone else doing it this way, though it wouldn't surprise me if others have come to the same conclusion – it's a big world out there.

I'll post it shortly.

Cheers everyone, and happy magic!

Perfect!

And if you'd like, you can send me a private message through the club with any thread brands you've tried and liked; that way, it'll be easier to find them.

No votes... "no paradise." 🙃

Everything you've mentioned is spot on.

We'll look for more affordable threads to add to the shop, and teaching magicians how to make their own Loops is a fantastic contribution for everyone.

Thanks!
