Hey everyone.

Are you familiar with Dani D'Ortiz's Math Magic?

You can see the effect in this video starting at the 6:25 mark:

Any thoughts on how he pulls it off?

Lots of lying 馃槄, "I'm going to explain the secret...", "it's a mathematical trick....", "I'm going to deal you a random number of cards from 8 to 13..."

Lies, lies, lies.... 馃ぃ 馃ぃ 馃ぃ 馃ぃ

Then, with his characteristic audacity, "working the audience and throwing them off as much as he can", a classic move for him.

The effect itself is quite simple and easy.

Performing it well just requires a solid presentation on your part, and not much else.

Hint: after signing each card and asking a spectator to name a number to leave that first card on the table, the trick is already DONE.

No matter how much I look at it, I can't find a solution. Do you know if this effect is published in any book? Is it by DaOrtiz or another magician?
