Light Bulb from the 'How to Be a Magician 2.0' Course

How does the light bulb that came with the course work? I've tried every way I can think of, but I can't get it to function.

As others have mentioned, check the batteries. To make sure they're working, connect the ends of a wire from the bulb's threading to the bottom metal contact point: if it lights up when you make contact, you're good; if not, the batteries are dead.

If it DOES light up, then either the ring you're using isn't conductive (that's happened to me) or the contacts aren't connecting properly with the ring (also happened to me). I have one of those bulbs, and it was poorly manufactured, so the poles just wouldn't make contact. I solved it by soldering a flat washer to the base to ensure the bottom pole protruded enough. With that fix and a suitable ring, it works every time now.

Another option if you don't have a soldering iron is to glue the washer on; in that case, make sure it makes contact with the metal part of the base.

Hope this helps!

Turns out I didn't get back to it, but thanks for your time.

It's either dead batteries, or if it's an LED light, one of them might be burnt out, which is why it's not lighting up.

You have to touch a metal object (like a ring) to both metal contacts for it to light up.

I already tried that, and it's still not working.

Seriously, check out the tutorial. If you still can't figure it out, let me know. I've got it, and it definitely has its moments.

Have you tried putting batteries in it? 馃ぃ

OMG, seriously, it takes batteries???? I totally thought they were just little candies, haha. But seriously now, it's not even working with batteries in it.

Wait, it takes batteries? I thought it ran on illusion and love, hahaha. Yeah, I tried the batteries, but nothing 馃様
