Hey everyone, what kind of elastic thread is good for creating gimmicks, and where can I buy it?
I bought this one from PRYM, reference 977770. It's cheap, works great, and lasts forever. It's 200m of thread.
Google it, and you'll find a few options.
Check M&C; I think they used to carry it.
Yep, that's the one!
The key is to make sure your elastic thread is as thin as possible so it remains completely undetectable. Seriously, the thinner, the better.
Cheers!
Yeah, Magia&Cardistry has a decent one, but I personally recommend the one @cdiaz posted. It's by the Prym brand.
What's the thickness? Because I'm currently using a 0.4mm one that I got on Amazon, but I'm having some trouble with certain tricks, like a rising card effect.
0.4mm seems a bit large to me. The one I mentioned earlier is between 0.1 and 0.2mm
But this is elastic thread. Enough for a Rising Card to rise from the center. A little tape and two cards is more than enough.
