Master Smooth Double Lift Sequences

How to String Your Breaks and Turnovers Together

You'll learn how to connect your card breaks with your turnovers so the move looks like one smooth motion. Instead of pausing or fumbling between steps, you'll have a go-to routine for showing a card and turning it back over. You'll be able to do this naturally without looking at your hands.

How These Sequences Are Taught

This lesson is split into two clear paths. First, you'll see a "Basic Combination" that uses simple moves to get a perfect result every time. Then, you'll move to an "Advanced Combination" that focuses on making the move look completely invisible. Each video shows you exactly where to put your fingers to keep the cards aligned.

How Much Practice You'll Need

The basic sequence is easy to learn if you can already do a simple thumb riffle. You can probably get the steps down in about ten minutes. The advanced version is harder because it uses a pinky count and a push-off. It will take more time to make sure the two cards don't split apart when you push them forward, but it's worth the effort if you want your magic to look professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I watch these in order?
Yes. Even if you're experienced, the basic combination is a great "safety" move to have. Once you're comfortable with that, try the advanced version.

How do I know if I'm doing it right?
Practice in front of a mirror or film yourself on your phone. If you see the cards "flash" (split apart) during the turnover, you need to adjust your finger pressure as Julio describes.

Can I do this with any deck of cards?
It works best with a standard deck of poker-sized cards. If your cards are very old and sticky, the advanced push-off will be much harder to do.

What if I get stuck on the pinky count?
Don't worry. The pinky count is one of the hardest moves in card magic. If you're struggling, stick with the thumb riffle sequence while you keep practicing your pinky strength on the side.
