Houdini Change
Why Most Color Changes Look Clumsy
You’re holding a spread of cards and one is sticking out. Everyone is looking right at it. If you want to change that card, you usually have to square the deck or cover it with your whole hand. This makes the magic feel heavy and obvious.
How the Houdini Change Works
The Houdini Change lets you transform a card while it’s still trapped in the middle of a spread. You don't have to hide the card behind your hand or close the deck. It looks like the card just melts into a different one while everyone is watching.
You’ll learn how to use a specific "Straddle Grip" that keeps the cards from slipping or falling. This grip makes the move feel secure so you don't have to worry about the cards splitting apart. You’ll be able to show a card clearly, give it a small shake, and watch it change into their selection while it's still trapped in the spread.

Common Questions About the Houdini Change
Is this hard to learn?
It’s a middle-of-the-road move. If you can handle a deck of cards comfortably, you can learn this. It doesn't require "pro" finger strength, just a bit of coordination.
Do I need special cards?
No. You can do this with any standard deck of cards. You don't need any sticky stuff or gimmicks.
How long does it take to learn?
You can understand the mechanics in about five minutes by watching the video. To make it look smooth and "melt" in front of people, you’ll probably want to practice it for a few days.
Can people see the move from the side?
Julio shows you exactly how to angle your hands and use the spread to hide the secret action from everyone watching.
