Glide: Card Switch and Applications
The Glide lets you show a card and apparently hand over that same card while making a switch. Julio Ribera presents it as an alternative for anyone still developing their double lift, and demonstrates a transformation to make the effect clear.
Grip and control of a single card
The explanation covers the grip and movement of the bottom card, together with coordination with the receiving hand. Julio addresses a common problem: moving several cards at once. He relates it to pressure from the hand holding the deck and shows how to adjust the points of contact to control one card.
He also explains how to square up afterward. The display, delivery and recovery should form a continuous sequence that leaves you in a comfortable position.
Cover and presentation options
Julio examines the angles from which the action can be seen and the cover provided by the hand and body. You can deliver the card to a table or to a spectator's hand; practise from the audience's actual position.
He then illustrates ways to change a card, retain control of it and direct a choice. He also relates the move to a card at a chosen number. These are applications of the technique, rather than extended explanations of several complete routines.
Materials and practice
You need an ordinary deck; no specific magic product is required. Practise pressure and movement first, then squaring and finally a natural delivery. The lesson provides a switching tool for your own tricks, subject to the angle limits Julio explains.
