How to Make Coins Appear from Anywhere

You’re standing with friends and want to do a trick, but your hands look empty. You reach into the air—or behind someone’s ear—and suddenly you’re holding a silver coin. This lesson shows you exactly how to make that happen without looking clumsy. You'll learn how to take a hidden coin and bring it into view so naturally that people will swear it came out of nowhere.

How the Lesson Works

The training is split into two parts. First, Jose explains why productions are the moment "real magic" starts happening in a coin routine. Then, he spends 17 minutes breaking down three specific methods. He starts with the easiest way to move a coin from your palm to your fingertips and builds up to more advanced ways to produce multiple coins one after another.

What’s the Difficulty?

This is a foundational skill, but it takes some steady hands. If you already know how to hold a coin in a finger palm, you’re ready for this. Jose learned these moves when he was twelve years old, so they are definitely learnable if you put in the time. You’ll need to practice the "push" motion until you don't have to think about it, but it’s the kind of thing you can practice while watching TV or waiting for a bus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know other moves first?
It helps if you already know the finger palm. If you don’t, you might want to check out the "Grips and Palms" section first.

Can I do this with any coin?
Yes, but most magicians find that half-dollar-sized coins are the easiest to handle when you're starting out.

How long does it take to learn?
You can learn the basic "ear production" in a few minutes. Making it look smooth and "invisible" usually takes a few days of fidgeting with the coin.

What if my hands are too small?
Hand size doesn't matter as much as the size of the coin. If a coin feels too big to hide, just try a smaller one like a quarter.
